Runner Runner – Summer Session Number 5
Runner Runner will be releasing their self-titled debut album on September 28th. Out now is the first single “So Obvious.” Coming from the previous bands Over It, Don’t Look Down and Rufio, Ryan Ogren, Nick Bailey, Peter Munters, Jon Berry and James Ulrich gathered in our studio to give us, and you, and early sample of that forthcoming album.

Runner Runner Performs: Photos Over the years, each member of Runner Runner became friends touring which each other while members of their previous bands. Those friendships eventually brought them together in mid-2008. At that point, Ryan, Nick, Peter and James were the band Over It. They added Jon and changed the name to Runner Runner. I sensed it that day in the studio, based on their performance and they way they carried the interview, that they’ve learned a lot in a short time. They brought in producer Dave Darling, who has worked with, amongst others, Tom Waits, Jack Johnson and Brian Setzer.
“So Obvious”
Runner Runner‘s debut album will be released through a new partnership with Capitol Records, C.E. Music (a new label formed by David Letterman’s Worldwide Pants Inc.) and Jack Ponti’s MRV label. They’ll be out on the road connecting with new fans on tour with Secondhand Serenade across the U.S. from July 17th through September 4th.

I remember seeing them the first time they had ever performed Hate The Way. That was seriously one of the best days ever. Nothing beats being front row for an acoustic RR show & hearing new songs.

I love watching Runner Runner live, their set is always fun. I’ve seen them twice and I talk about their performance every time Runner Runner comes up. They played an acoustic set at my school, which was really awesome. I got to hang with them before the kids came in and watch them perform then afterwards I went to their show that same night and waited in the hailing rain for them, which was totally worth it!

I actually never heard any music from when they used to be Over It before Jon. But I sure heard of them quickly after they became RR. I love listening to their music. I have been a fan for a couple of years now and have been lucky enough to see them live. Their music is incredible and really reaches the soul. I love these acoustic sessions and of course their live sets are just incredible. I’ve seen them live many times, I still get blown away at their shows. I’ve known of Runner Runner for about 2 years now and I’m still in love with them <3

Gah!!! I love these boys, they never fail to amaze me. Ever since the boys came together and formed Runner Runner nothing but creativity and true talent has been showed. If it wasn’t for seeing them open for The White Tie Affair, I probably wouldn’t even know who they were. And I’m glad I know about them now! They are AWESOME live! Hearing them play LIVE at a small venue on Monday, it was INCREDIBLE!! I got to meet them after and they are REALLY down-to-earth, sweet, guys!! Also really good looking!!
