Artist Of The Week: Hot Hot Heat

Hot Hot Heat have delivered their first new studio album in nearly three years, Future Breeds. The record, produced by singer/keyboardist Steve Bays, is their first on Dangerbird Records, and easily echoes the brilliance of their studio debut Makeup The Breakdown.

After parting ways with Sire Records, Hot Hot Heat proceeded to build their own studio, write a lot of material, and make the record they wanted to make. Once the task was complete, next up, shopping it and hooking up with the right label. Dangerbird, home of such artists as Silversun Pickups, Delphic, Minus The Bear, Sea Wolf, and Darker My Love became the band’s choice.
“
From day one, we were talking about it being more of the kind of album you can throw on at a party.

Hot Hot Heat have always impressed me with their live shows, and I feel for the first time, they’ve totally captured that sound on disc. After checking out their session at our studio below, try to check them out on tour. They are currently out with co-Artist Of The Week 22-20s through September 21st in the U.S. After that Hot Hot Heat break off for dates in Canada, U.K. and Germany.
