A Perfect Sound Companion To Solitude, Sunol’s “Ohlone”

Sunol - Ohlone (Album Cover Art)
The laid-back spirit of classic rock is mixed with a dose of Yosemite National Park and given a 21st-century twist in the music of alt-folk Sunol. Recorded over the course of a year in San Francisco, Sunol whimsical songs is the perfect sound companion for a day of solitude! Luckily, we found the right album for one of those occasions. And, did we mention it’s available for free!?
Drawing inspiration from late 1970s California classic rock and American folk writing, Ohlone is the kind of the album King Of Convenience and Midlake would produce if they both collaborated and mixed in some West African instrumentation. It’s made up of complex yet whimsical songs recorded over a year in San Francisco. The sound draws upon simple instrumentation of guitar and banjo layered with finger pianos and other percussive effects to build the sound into a dense atmospheric delight. Like the sound of that? Mouse on over below for a free download of the album. We promise it won’t disappoint.
