Band Stunt-Performs Single On Subway… Using Their iPhones

The music industry is cutthroat and even when a band has finally “made it” and land a record deal, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are getting heard. Leave it to the tech-savvy to come up with a nerdy yet very clever outlet to get their sound out there to a receptive audience.
The circle of friends that is Atomic Tom has really proven that a band can still make claim to DIY fame these days. Hailing from Brooklyn, they spent four months recording their premiere LP out of a tiny apartment, utilizing the natural reverberation of hallways, closets & bathrooms to give the record a signature sound.
After the home-recording effort was inevitably shut down by the cops, Atomic Tom spent the past four years refining their sound & roster adding Philip Galitzine, Eric Espiritu and Tobias Smith to lead vocalist & writer Luke White’s initial effort.

Blending electronica with catchy alternative pop beats and a “larger-than-life” arena rock presentation, Atomic Tom is something to behold. However in a recent stunt, the band went small scale (to put it lightly) in an effort to get noticed & go viral. If you were riding the NYC B train on Thursday Oct. 14th, you may have been privvy to this experiment:
