While Travis are on a little break, lead singer and chief songwriter Fran Healy has kept quite busy. After going cross-country with bandmate Andy Dunlop doing a “history of Travis” tour, he then put his time and effort into his first solo album, Wreckorder.
Fans of Travis should immediately dig this record. The first time I heard it back in August I had five favorites. After seeing him live, opening up for Keane in Brooklyn on the waterfront a few weeks after that, I gravitated towards a few other songs as well. Watch Fran all this week as her performs some of these, and Friday you’ll get Fran’s interview where he talks about how he got Neko Case and Paul McCartney to appear on the record. Of course, we’ll also talk about Travis amongst other related topics. Today, Fran fills us in on “Fly In The Ointment” and does it acoustically in our studio.
