The Kills played Spin’s annual Friday afternoon party at Stubb’s, hitting the big outdoor stage between the new-wave beats of O.M.D. and the big, bold sounds of party headliners TV on the Radio. They were pretty vocal about the sound problems they were having, and that they are more comfortable playing after dark. Still, their grungy, garage-y sound kept its dark-shrouded attitude even out in the open, unguarded against the bright Texas sunshine. (Photos by Kurt Wolff)
