Summer Sessions: From Heartbreak To AWOLNATION

AWOLNATION is gearing up to be one of the year’s biggest alternative breakthroughs, set up quite nicely by the Top 5 hit “Sail.” The guy behind the project, Aaron Bruno, while in the midst of being at a real low point in his life, with no money at all, came up with this gem that turned things around. “Sail”

In Aaron’s words, “Sail” was a total fluke and an accident. While taking a quick break from writing songs in hopes of them being used by other artists, the song was born. Within two-hours, “Sail” was done and the verison you hear on the debut album Megalithic Symphony is pretty close to it’s demo form.

After paying his dues in the bands Ice Monkeys, Hometown Hero and Under The Influence Of Giants, Aaron Bruno took things into his own hands and started AWOLNATION. Like his tastes in music, AWOLNATION’s debut album Megalithic Symphony dips into many sounds. “ I wanted the record to be a good book you can read or a good movie you can watch.
